Company Position regarding the use of AI generative art
AI Art has no soul.
*This is a fact.
AI Generative Art (including AI video) is not an extension of human creativity, it’s a replacement for it.
We’ve heard many Educators and Artists celebrate AI Art and define it as a “tool”. Like a pencil or a printing press. It’s not. Tools don’t think. This tool has a prime directive. To grow. And although we acknowledge that it cannot be stopped, we still choose not to intentionally accelerate it.
Fans of AI Art love the feeling of creating something without actually creating something. This is what previously made Artists feel special. Now that everyone has a magic wand for images, video and storytelling, supporting human creativity is more important than ever.
AI Art has made the talented and the talentless virtually indistinguishable from one another. All AI generative content lacks humanity and heart. Those just so happen to our secret sauce.
Since the emergence of AI Art in 2021 we immediately identified the magnitude of this shift early on. We made a stance against using it in any of the work that we do. Our clients respect this position and benefit from human creative that is by definition far superior to anything that an AI can emulate.
We do not buy, sell or promote AI Art. Our contractors are not permitted to use generative source material on any of our projects. They respect that and we respect them.
