Logo Design

The briefing for this logo was centred around Canadian First Nations History, tradition and symbolism. It required a great deal of research and understanding. The results are a modern standard that has roots in the past.

About MWSI

The Manitoulin Wind & Solar Institute (MWSI) was formed in 2009 as a non-profit education institute and is registered with the Government of Ontario.
MSWI is based on the M’Chigeeng First Nation but its catchment area encompasses all of Manitoulin Island and the Northshore.
With plans to expand in stages over a 6-year period, it will become an inspiring environmental institute, providing hands-on training through interactive renewable energy workshops, green building, and sustainable living.
Its philosophy is simple: To create a union between the past, present and future.

The MSWI has signed a Partnership Articulation Agreement with Sault College of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Through
this agreement the institute will be able to provide education and training opportunities to the general population served by the Institute.

The partners will strive for excellence in education, training and practice so that those served may begin and enact green energy technologies.
The effect will be a reduction in environmental harm to Mother Earth, energy consumption and cost. This will help to generally identify and plan measures which will lead to a more sustainable way of life for all people.
